On a beautiful frosty day Victoria + Paul, now properly introduced as the "Varners" eloped in Lubbock at a museum where they met, for a small intimate wedding between the two! They had plans for a big wedding but decided it was safer and more fitting to elope with just one another instead. We took the puppy with us to a gorgeous park full of geese and created some beautiful photos of their newlywedded love. It was so magical, and their love truly shows. With the ducks all over the water, it was like a scene from the notebook! Ah take me back!
What is an elopement?
Elopement is often used to refer to a marriage conducted in sudden and /or in a secretive fashion, usually involving a hurried flight away from one's place of residence together with one's beloved with the intention of getting married (according to google). But for me, in my opinion, an elopement can be ANYWHERE. Where you first met, your favorite date place, your dream destination, etc!
As a wedding photographer who has helped my brides plan, and coordinate their elopement, I have gained a few things of knowledge within the experience that I thought would be helpful for me to share!
HOW TO PLAN AN ELOPEMENT
1. MAKE IT AN ALL DAY ELOPEMENT
Just because you aren't having a big fancy wedding day, doesn't mean you can't spend the entire day celebrating your love! Go do something after your I do's are done! Catch your favorite bite to eat, go see a movie, do something wild!
2. PICK A LOCATION SPECIAL TO YOU
The location you choose should be special to you! The Varners choose the museum they met at, and a beautiful park for photos! You can literally choose anywhere special you've shared moments together!
Need help finding a location?
As your photographer I can help with finding a location! I have access to many elopement locations, and have TONS of ideas burning in my brain!
3. Choose your date wisely and book the photographer ASAP!
You want to make sure that your photographer is available for travel should you choose to go out of their normal location! Photographers tend to get booked in advance so whoever you find needs a good heads up to make sure they can make it!
Should we elope?
If you and your significant other are super adventurous and are into the idea of getting married just the two of you somewhere epic, I HIGHLY SUGGEST ELOPING! Tradition is great too, but eloping? A dreamy location with mother nature?? That's the most romantic thing on the planet in my eyes!
If you are looking for an elopement photographer that will be there for you every step of the way, then I would LOVE to talk with you, and help your big vision come true!
